It could be the end of an era, with hot dog eating champion Joey Chestnut not competing in this year's July 4th contest because of a conflict with his sponsor. It raises the question: Between this and college sports, has our sponsorship economy gone too far? I argued both sides in an On the Other Hand from a month ago that I never got around to posting.

Corporations are insane thinking that their profits margin needs to keep growing its it enough just to keep it to a certain level and keep people working for them till retirement like it was back in the day before the 1970s? A lot of people retired working for one company very rare nowadays to much greed in this corporate world..

5 nodes in 4 years? You'll be lucky to deliver 1 node in 5 years after how long it took you with 10nm. Also Pat claiming his products are looking "healthy" is a huge slap in the face, considering their current predicament with oxidation, degradation and ring bus issues on their 13th and 14th gen CPUs. If those are what Pat considers "healthy" products, I'd hate to see what he considers unhealthy.

Great, tough questions. It was interesting to hear the perspective from Pat that this was a planned cut-back in order to deliver on their financial efficiency goals, rather than an unplanned desperate move due to poor performance in their turn around. Maybe they could have been better about signaling that, and who knows if it's even true or just an excuse. But I hadn't heard that perspective elsewhere, so it was interesting. As a regretful holder I will continue to hold, maybe it's the "wrong" thing to do as more earned may be earned elsewhere, but the news and outlook does not look so bad to me that it is a panic sell. Let's see if Pat is able to deliver like he says.
